How Affiliation System Works in XFile Ultra

This guide explains the affiliation system in everyday language. You do not need to be a developer to follow it.

In short: people share your site. When someone they sent buys Premium or Premium Pro, they can earn a share of that sale. Traffic packages and balance top-ups do not pay affiliation commissions.

There are two related programs:

Affiliate — earn when people buy through your promo link, or when someone buys Premium on your uploaded files
Webmaster — earn when people arrive from your website (with a special link or after you register and verify your domain)

Both can be turned on or off by the site admin. The webmaster tools only work if the main affiliate system is also on.

The big picture

1. The admin turns on the affiliate system (and optionally the webmaster program)

2. A member is approved as an affiliate and/or webmaster

3. Visitors click special links (or come from a registered webmaster site)

4. The site remembers that visitor for a while (a cookie)

5. If they buy Premium / Premium Pro while that memory is still valid, a commission is created

6. After a short hold period, the commission can be withdrawn or moved to account balance

Who can earn, and how

1) File owner (uploader)

If User A uploads a file, and a visitor lands on that file’s download page and buys Premium, User A can earn the uploader commission — even if the visitor did not use an ?aff= link.

That is the most common path for uploaders.

2) Affiliate with a promo link

Approved affiliates get a public ID. Their promo links look like:

https://yoursite.com/?aff=12345
https://yoursite.com/premium?aff=12345

If a visitor clicks that link, the site remembers the affiliate. Later, if that visitor buys Premium (and there is no stronger claim, like a file owner on that sale), the affiliate can earn direct premium commission — if the admin left that option on.

3) Webmaster with a site

Approved webmasters register a domain (for example news-blog.com), verify it, and get approved if the admin requires approval.

Visitors can be tracked with:

https://yoursite.com/?wm=news-blog.com

or, in many cases, when they simply click a normal link from that domain and the browser sends a referrer.

When those visitors buy Premium, the webmaster can earn the webmaster commission.

Important rule

On a single sale, if the same person would somehow be both the file owner and the webmaster, only the file-owner (uploader) commission is paid — not both.

Real-life scenarios

Scenario 1 — User A shares a file

User A is an approved affiliate and uploads a movie file
User B opens the download page and buys Premium to download faster
User A earns the uploader share of that Premium sale (for example 30% if that is what the admin set)

User B did not need a special affiliate link. The file itself carried the earning path.

Scenario 2 — User A sends a Premium link

User A shares https://yoursite.com/premium?aff=1001
User C clicks it, browses around, and a few days later buys Premium Pro
The cookie still remembers User A
There is no file owner on this checkout, and no webmaster site
User A earns the direct premium commission (if the admin enabled Direct premium affiliate)

Scenario 3 — User B is a webmaster, User A owns the file

User A uploaded the file (approved affiliate)
User B runs coolfiles.net as an approved webmaster
A visitor comes from coolfiles.net and buys Premium on User A’s file
User A earns the uploader share
User B earns the webmaster share
Two different people → both can earn on the same sale

If User A were somehow both the file owner and the webmaster on that sale, they would get only one commission (the uploader share), not both.

Scenario 4 — Registration referral bonus

User A’s affiliate link is used when User D first signs up
Later, User D (now an approved affiliate) earns a commission of their own
User A can get a small registration referral bonus — a percentage of User D’s commission, not of the whole sale (for example 5% of what User D earned), if the admin enabled that feature

Scenario 5 — What does not pay

User C buys a traffic package → no affiliation commission
User C tops up account balance → no affiliation commission
Only Premium and Premium Pro plan purchases create these commissions

The settings that shape the system (in plain words)

Admins find these under Settings → Affiliation.

Turning programs on

Setting	What it means
Affiliate system	Master switch. Off = no commissions, no affiliate cookies, no affiliate withdrawals
Webmaster program	Lets people register sites and earn from site traffic (needs Affiliate system on too)
Approve affiliate on register	New accounts become affiliates automatically
Approve webmaster on register	New accounts become webmasters automatically (only if affiliate auto-approve is also on)

If auto-approve is off, an admin must approve people under their user profile (Approved affiliation / Approved webmaster).

Remembering visitors

Setting	What it means
Attribution model	Last click wins. The most recent valid affiliate or webmaster click gets credit
Affiliate cookie duration (days)	How long the site remembers who sent the visitor (default often 30 days)
Preserve attribution on direct revisit	If on, coming back later without a new link usually keeps the old cookie. If off, a “clean” visit can clear it earlier

Signup binding from an affiliate link can last longer than the normal cookie (about a year) so registration referrals still work.

How much people earn

Rates are a percent of the Premium sale amount.

Setting	What it means
Uploader commission (%)	Default share for the file owner (often 30%)
Webmaster commission (%)	Default share for the webmaster site (often 10%)
Direct premium affiliate	On/off for earning on `?aff=` Premium sales with no file/webmaster claim
Direct premium commission (%)	Share for that direct path (often 30%)
Plan-specific overrides	Different % for Premium vs Premium Pro if the admin wants
Registration referral bonus (%)	Extra bonus to the person who referred the earner at signup (percent of the earner’s commission)
Refund reversal	If a sale is refunded, related commissions can be clawed back

Admins can also set personal rates on a single user (uploader / webmaster / direct premium %), and webmasters can have a per-site rate that overrides the global webmaster %.

Uploader % and webmaster % on one sale are not supposed to add up past 100% of the sale.

Safety and fairness

Setting	What it means
Block self-purchase commissions	You cannot earn commission on your own Premium purchase
Block same-IP commissions	Blocks commissions when buyer and earner look like the same person by recent IP
Max commission per day	Optional daily cap (0 usually means unlimited)

Getting paid

Setting	What it means
Commission hold period	New commissions stay Pending for N days (often 7). Then they become Approved and withdrawable. 0 = available right away
Minimum payout amount	Smallest amount for an external withdrawal (often around $10)
Manual withdrawal approval	If on, admin must approve each payout request. If off, requests can start approved
Withdrawal frequency	Unlimited, weekly, or monthly limits on external withdrawals
Allow balance transfer	Members can move earnings into their site balance (useful for buying Premium themselves). Balance transfer can allow amounts below the minimum payout

Commission status path: Pending → Approved → Paid (or Reversed if clawed back).

Member journey (what affiliates actually do)

1. Learn about the program on the public affiliate page (or contact the site)

2. Get approved (automatically on register, or by an admin)

3. Open Account → Affiliation

4. Copy promotion links from the dashboard

5. Optional: open the Webmaster tab, add a domain, verify it (meta tag and/or DNS), wait for approval if required

6. Watch commissions appear after Premium sales

7. Wait out the hold period

8. Add a payout method, then request a payout or transfer to balance

Quick FAQ

Do I need `?aff=` on my own files?

No. For your files, uploader commission can apply without the tag. The tag still helps with tracking, direct Premium sales, and signup referrals.

Can two different people earn on one sale?

Yes. Example: file owner gets uploader %, and a different webmaster gets webmaster %, according to the rates the admin set.

Why is my commission “Pending”?

That is the hold period. It protects the site against quick refunds and chargebacks. After the days pass, it should become Approved.

Why didn’t I get paid for a traffic package?

Affiliation only pays on Premium / Premium Pro purchases, not traffic packs or balance top-ups.

Webmaster vs affiliate — do I need both?

Not necessarily. Affiliates can earn from files and promo links. Webmasters earn from registered sites. Many people use only one; some use both.
