Trash retention
How long soft-deleted files stay recoverable (from delete time). After that, the cleanup job permanently removes them.

Defaults often 30 days. Amount has a high ceiling (thousands of units — keep it sensible).
How it works
Changing amount/unit recomputes expiry on all items currently in trash. Members restore from My Files → Deleted while still inside retention (and their tier allows restore).
Permanent delete timing also depends on Trash cleanup interval (how often the worker scans).
Common problems
Files vanished overnight
Retention elapsed and cleanup ran. That delete is permanent unless you have backups.
Shortened retention by mistake
Items already in trash get the new shorter deadline immediately.
