Public / premium file flags

Public = outsider access; Premium = paid-tier download gate for non-owners. New-upload defaults from site toggles.

Public / premium file flags

Control who can open and download each file.

Where to find it

/my-files - row toggles, Edit modal, and bulk actions

How it works

Flag Meaning
Public Others can open the download link (required for link-only copy)
Premium Non-owners need Premium / Premium Pro; owner always bypasses

Change via table toggle, Edit modal, or bulk (Set to public/private, Set to premium/non-premium; files only). New uploads follow Files public by default (default on) and Files premium by default (default off).

Admin per-user overrides can freeze both flags ("set by an administrator..."). Premium does not make a private file public. Flags do not waive size/bandwidth limits or remove passwords.

Common problems

Private but shared the link

Owner-only - others cannot download.

Premium does not replace Public

A private premium file is still private.
